Nike Soccer Balls
Recommendations, Reviews and Tips

Which of the Nike soccer balls should you buy?

The best and the least expensive. Right?...
And it is possible. Just use my Free Guide and choose the soccer ball that is…

…The best for you, the most adequate for your age, level of soccer you play and of course for your…budget.

I have narrowed my recommendation to Total 90s and T90s only, because they are the best among Nike soccer balls.

There is no need to waste your valuable time. All these selections are in the price range between $18 and $120, so I am pretty sure you will find a soccer ball that is perfect for you.

Recommendations

Nike Total 90

  1. Aerow
One of the best (if not the best) soccer balls on today’s market. Unfortunately the price can make you cry unless you have some “extra cash” on you. Comes only in size 5. Click on the link to learn more.
  2. Catalyst
Almost as good as Aerow and… much cheaper. Great value for a top quality ball. Size 5 only. Click on the link to learn more.
Nike T90
  1. Team 400
Ball with quality of Catalyst for less money. Probably the ultimate selection for anyone. Size 4 and 5. Click on the link to learn more.
  2. Academy
Same as Team 400…even the price.
  3. Team 250
It comes in all three sizes: 3, 4 and 5 so it’s good for any age but…Click on the link to learn more.
  4. Swift or Radiant
The best choice for young kids (size 3). Good quality and affordable price. Click on the link to learn more.

Reviews

Nike soccer balls stormed the soccer market very aggressively (so did every other Nike soccer equipment). And with huge success. In my opinion Nike soccer balls are one of the best in the market right now…not only for the reason that Nike exceeded Adidas in sales of soccer equipment (for the first time) but also because most of major professional soccer leagues are using Nike soccer balls.

If that’s not enough most of the games in 2005 European Champions League and World Cup qualifiers have been played with Nike balls.

And I don’t think it happened only because of aggressive marketing tactics (i.e. paying lots of money for endorsement contracts) that Nike. Inc is well known from.

They're just simply very good and soccer players love them. So do I. I have played soccer with Adidas soccer balls all my life. They used to be the best… until Nike developed “Total90s” and “T90s”.

These Nike soccer balls give you great feel and soft touch yet they still have fantastic speed after being stricken. They are very accurate and predictable as well as durable. Also you can curve them much better than any other ball ever (much more goals scored from free kicks when played with Nike soccer balls).

Nike Total 90
  1. Aerow   $90-$120

  2. Nike Soccer Balls - Total 90 Aerow

Cover (outer layer) – High-performance PU (Polyurethane - a versatile synthetic material providing good touch and feel).
Bladder - Special 6-wing carbon latex with Air Block II air retention system.
    Size 5 only.

    Special Technologies:

    • Geo Balanced - six double-hex panels bladder distributes pressure evenly across the whole ball.
    • Pattern of microscopic grooves on the ball's high-performance PU casing - reduces deviation and encourages stabilized flight.
    • Layer of compressed Zote foam (a durable, extremely responsive material) and two layers of vulcanized latex rubber in the ball's casing – when the ball is struck it gets better speed than any conventional soccer balls…”trampoline” effect (but it makes the ball little “bouncy” on hard surfaces).
    • Another support layer of high-strength material - retains ball’s shape and durability.
    • 26 Hand-Stitched Panels (the different segments that make up the outside covering of the ball) - the ball can be curved more when kicked because of less stability to the cover.
    • FIFA Approved (several specific tests that soccer ball needs to pass – it is basically a guarantee of a good quality soccer ball).

Tip ! It is probably the best soccer ball on the market…at least one of the best. However I wouldn’t recommend it, especially to bring it to a soccer practice. Why?
Simple. It costs too much money. I know how often soccer balls are getting lost or misplaced during soccer practices. Of course it is a wonderful ball for your regular games, pick-up games and even for individual practice.

  3. Catalyst   $50-$60

  4. Nike Soccer Balls - Total 90 Catalyst

    Cover – High-performance PU.
Bladder - Special 6-wing carbon latex with Air Block II air retention system.
    Size 5 only.

    Special Technologies:

    • Geo Balanced - six double-hex panels bladder distributes pressure evenly across the whole ball.
    • Support layer of high-strength material - retains ball’s shape and durability.
    • 32 Hand-Stitched Panels – the most common.
    • FIFA Approved

Tip ! This is a less expensive version of Aerow. Sure, it doesn’t have some of Nike’s exclusive “technology gadgets” but it certainly feels great when you play with it. Actually the Catalyst is more versatile – it doesn’t bounce as crazy as Aerow does on hard surfaces.

Nike T90
  1. Team 400  $35-$40

  2. Nike Soccer Balls - T90 Team 400

One of the differences between Catalyst and Team 400 is that Team 400 is not FIFA Approved.
It is however…FIFA Inspected and NFHS Approved (less strict test than FIFA’s but still good guarantee of a quality ball).

    Another difference is…about $20.

Tip ! It comes in sizes 4 and 5, so this is probably the ultimate choice for everybody. Great soccer ball for reasonable price.

  3. Academy  $35-$40

  4. Nike Soccer Balls - T90 Academy

    Same as T90 Team 400
    …even the price.

Tip ! It comes in few different styles (colors) as opposed to Team 400. However, that would be the only difference between these two great soccer balls.

  5. Team 250  $20-$25

  6. Nike Soccer Balls - T90 Team 250

    Cover – PU
Bladder – Butyl with Air Block II air retention system.
    32 Hand-Stitched Panels
It comes in all sizes: 3, 4 and 5.

Tip !  I would not recommend this ball unless…you find it for less than $15. Why? Because it has Butyl bladder and you can get Nike soccer balls, like Radiant and Swift (below) with Latex bladder for about $18-$20.
Click here to learn more about differences between Butyl and Latex bladders.

  7. Swift and Radiant   $18-$20

  8. Nike Soccer Balls - T90 Radiant Nike Soccer Balls - T90 Swift

They both have the same features:
    Cover – PU
Bladder - Special 6-wing carbon latex with Air Block II air retention system.
                       32 Hand-Stitched Panels

Tip ! These two soccer balls are a great selection especially for young kids. If you are looking for a good quality size 3 soccer ball, yet still very affordable - one of these two should be your ultimate choice.
